My family is my world.  The work I do inside the four walls of my home is, in my opinion, the most important legacy I can leave behind.  My number one goal in life is to raise my children to understand the value of faith, respect, self-control, and hard work.  I pray that one day they will grow to be leaders who guide with servant hearts, both in the world and in their own homes.

The example I set for my children is essential in this goal.  I believe it begins–first and foremost– with my own faith.  Surrendering to God’s will and loving as Jesus loved.  Second, the health of my marriage sets the bar for what my children will expect in their own relationships.  Marriage isn’t always easy, but nothing in life worth doing ever is, right?  I hope some of the posts you’ll find here will add value to your marriage or pre-marital relationships.

Outside of my four walls, I also dearly value the relationships and traditions we share with our extended family – Grandmas and Grandpas, Aunts and Uncles, Neices and Nephews, Cousins, Neighbors, Friends.  We have a handful of family members that live within an hour’s drive for us, but many of our loved ones are scattered across the U.S. and the world.

This can create challenges, but we’re working to find ways to stay connected despite the distance.  I hope that posts in this category will encourage you to strengthen the bonds with your extended family.

**Note: Please know that I am a work in progress.  All of my relationships–with God, with my husband, with my children, and with my extended family–have lots of room to improve.  The posts I’ll share here are part of my journey, and definitely should NOT be assumptive that I have it all figured out.  Because I sure as heck don’t.

Thanks for joining me here and I hope you’ll chime in and let me know your thoughts.  I’d also love for you to share some of your own experiences with this community in the comments section.
